What is planned?
Greater Noida West (Noida Extension) is home to lakhs of residents but has no metro station of its own today. The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has planned an extension of the Aqua Line from Noida Sector 51 into Greater Noida West, ending near Gaur Chowk / Kisan Chowk in Sector 4.
From Sector 51, passengers can change to the Delhi Metro Blue Line at Sector 52, giving Noida Extension a direct rail link to Noida and Delhi.
Route and stations
The elevated line is planned at roughly 7.5–8.4 km (figures differ slightly between reports) with five new stations:
- Noida Sector 61
- Noida Sector 70
- Noida Sector 122
- Noida Sector 123
- Greater Noida West Sector 4 (near Gaur Chowk / Kisan Chowk)
The estimated cost reported in 2026 is around ₹1,500–2,000 crore, shared between the Centre, the UP government and the Noida and Greater Noida authorities. Reports also mention a planned link with the proposed Ghaziabad–Jewar Airport rapid rail corridor in future.
Current status (as of October 2026)
The UP government approved the project earlier. In 2026 it moved through the central approval process: reports in September 2026 said it had cleared the Public Investment Board and was awaiting Union Cabinet approval, after which NMRC can issue tenders and begin construction.
Construction timelines quoted in news reports range from about two to four years after work begins, so residents should realistically expect the line to open around 2028–2030, depending on approvals and construction pace. We will update this page as official news comes in.
What it means for property in Greater Noida West
- Better connectivity: societies near Gaur Chowk, Sector 4, Gaur City and Sector 16 would be closest to the new station.
- Rental demand: a metro link usually makes an area more attractive to working professionals who commute to Noida and Delhi.
- Be realistic: news of approvals often moves prices before the metro actually opens. Buy because the home suits you today, and treat the metro as a bonus — not the only reason.
